UNIPORT Confirms Death of Final Year student

The University of Port Harcourt has confirmed the death of a final year student identified as Gloria Adeleye. LIB reported that the 500-level student of the Department of Animal Science, slumped and died a few days after taking her first semester exams. It was gathered that Gloria finished her exams on Thursday, April 1, 2021, and left the school for her family residence. She was said to have slumped at home on Tuesday, April 6, and was rushed to hospital, where she died. Alhaji Rabe Ibrahim Jibia, a newly appointed Senior Special Assistant on Security, Daura Zone, to Katsina State Governor,  Aminu Bello Masari, has died. It was gathered that Alhaji Jibia slumped on Saturday, March 27, during the wedding fatiha of the daughter of the Special Adviser on Security matters to Governor Masari, Alhaji Ibrahim Katsina at Banu Commasie, GRA Katsina. The family of a man named Godwin Chukwudi Julius Akano, 48, who died while in police detention, are asking for answers from the police. The late Julius, an importer of goods from Europe, was arrested on May 22 for alleged complicity in a case of fraud with one Obinali Osunwoke. He was arrested alongside his wife, Ogochukwu, but she was later released in the evening of the same day. Julius died in police custody on Saturday June 6. Oil Prices Dip By 2.5% Amid U.S. Inventory Data Concerns

Oil prices slumped to more than two-week lows yesterday, as global stock markets fell, with investor sentiment made more bearish by the United States government data that showed domestic crude inventories rose more than expected last week. Brent crude futures fell by $2.08 or 2.5 percent to $81.01 a barrel. The contra posted a session low of $80.69, its weakest since September 24. The global benchmark has retreated after hitting a four-year high of $86.74 on October 3. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude CLc1 futures fell $1.81, or 2.5 percent, to $71.36 a barrel. WTI hit a session low of $71.08, the lowest since September 21. Witness Slumps And Dies In Lagos Court

An Ikeja High Court was on Thursday thrown into confusion after an unnamed witness slumped and died in the court just before testifying before Justice O.A. Olayinka in a land case.
