Kidnappers Abduct two Children and 5 Adults in Suleja

Two children and seven adults were reportedly abducted at Anguwar Kwankwashe in Suleja, Niger state. Daily Trust reported that the kidnappers in large number invaded some houses and a hotel around 1:35 am on Tuesday August 3. Two of the kidnap victims however escaped from their abductors. An eyewitness, Shehu Abdulkadir said; “They split into groups to attack homes from where they took their victims. “It was even the sound of their gun shot that woke me up. I walked quietly to check the window and discovered that the kidnappers, some of them even dressed like soldiers." Suspected armed bandits have attacked Tunga community in Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing the village head and two others. According to reports, the armed bandits stormed the village on Wednesday evening March 24, shooting sporadically into the air.  The village head was reportedly shot dead after he refused to follow the bandits who wanted to kidnap him. The attack comes few days after gunmen attacked Amarawa community, also in Illela LGA, killing at least 10 persons. A team of government officials and police, led by the Commissioner for lands, Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu, on Friday, Feb 19, stormed the Royal Spring Palm Hotels and Apartments, allegedly owned by Nneoma Rochas Okorocha, wife of former Governor Rochas Okorocha, and sealed off the property. Recall that the Hope Uzodinma administration, last week, recovered the Eastern Palm University from Rochas Okorocha and renamed it. As former Imo governor Rochas Okorocha is battling incumbent governor Uzodinma over the recovery of the University, Uzodinma sealed off Okorocha's wife's hotel.
