Release Igboho To Continue His Journey, Soyinka Tells Benin Republic

Professor Wole Soyinka, the popular Nigerian Playwright, has called on the government of the Republic of Benin to release Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, to continue his journey. Speaking with journalists in Lagos on Friday during an interactive session titled, “Sanctions on the loose: Chasing the gnat with a sledgehammer,” the elder statesman said the secessionist didn’t commit any crime against Nigeria. Motsepe: Caf President mourns the death of Zambia’s Kaunda

The head of the African football body describes the late 'true statesman' as the father of the continent Confederation of African Football President Patrice Motsepe has mourned pan African hero and Zambia’s first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda. Kaunda, who was 97, passed away on Thursday after he was admitted to the Maina Soko Military Hospital in Lusaka earlier this week. He became president of Zambia in 1964 when the Southern African nation gained its independence from Britain, was in power until 1991, and was among the continent's few surviving liberation heroes.

The Plateau chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has queried Yahaya Kwande, elder statesman and member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BOT), over alleged anti-party activities. Elder statesman, Edwin Clark, says he has forgiven those that invaded his house over alleged stockpiling of firearms. He made the statement when Sen. Shehu Sani (APC- Kaduna) visited him in Abuja.
