The 24-year-old scored Watford's only goal in their 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday. Dennis overcame an injury scare after he was substituted in the Hornets' 4-2 loss against Leicester City on Sunday. He then featured against Thomas Tuchel's side in midweek.

The Uruguay international believes he still has two years left at the top level, and wants to link up with Xavi at Barcelona. Cavani joined the Red Devils in 2020 and signed a one-year extension in the summer. But he seems unlikely to put pen-to-paper on another extension at Old Trafford with a move to Barcelona on the cards. And with cash-strapped Barca targeting low-cost transfers, the free signing of Cavani is an attractive prospect.

Barcelona board are split on the future of Sergio Aguero. The Argentina striker is recovering from collapsing on the pitch last month with a heart condition. Doctors have recommended he stay away from the training pitch until January. Goal says there has been discussion amongst Barca directors about offering Aguero a payoff from his contract and encouraging him to retire. However, other board members are insisting management not act too soon and give the former Manchester City striker as much he needs to recover. For his part, Aguero has stated publicly on social media he has no plans to hang up the boots.
