Court Summons Malami, Magu To Testify In Maina’s Trial

A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a subpoena compelling the Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami and former chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, to testify in the ongoing case against former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina. The subpoena signed on 8th March by presiding Judge Justice Okon Abang, ordered 10 persons to come before the court on 9th,10th and 11th March to testify in Mr Maina’s defence. Court Summons Rarara For ‘Camping Married’ Woman

The Upper Shariah Court at Kofar Kudu in Kano has summoned President Muhammadu Buhari’s praise singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, to appear before it on December 22, 2020, for allegedly camping a married woman, Maryam Muhammad. In a written complaint filed before the court by her husband, Abdulkadir Inuwa, he alleged that the singer used his wife in a recent music video “Jihata, Jihata ce”. Inuwa also alleged that for three months the whereabouts of his wife was unknown and prayed the court to intervene and do justice to the issue. Senate Summons Hammed Ali, Customs DG, To Appear In Uniform

The Senate has asked the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali retd., to appear “in plenary in uniform” on Wednesday “unfailingly.” Members of the Senate are pushing for drastic action against the NCS and its D-G over the refusal to suspend action on the proposed clamp down on vehicles without duty payment, as ordered by the legislature. Osun Court Orders Arrest of Oluwo of Iwo For Ignoring Summons

An Osun state magistrate court on Tuesday issued a warrant for the arrest of a first-class traditional ruler in the state, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi. The arrest warrant was issued following the refusal of the monarch to honour a court summons issued in November to answer to a suit filed against him by another monarch, the Oluwo of Iwo-Oke, Oba Kadiri Adeoye. In his suit, Oba Adeoye had accused the Oluwo of Iwo of concealing some facts about his past before he was installed as a first class monarch about a year ago. Channels TV reports that among other things, the Oluwo of Iwo was accused of keeping armed thugs, miscreants and hoodlums around to harass, intimidate, molest and attack persons whom he perceived as his enemies.
