SWAT Begins Training Of 400 Personnel

The new police unit called Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) on Monday began its training with over 400 personnel at the Police Mobile College in Eggon, Nasarawa State. Present at the training ground was the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, and other officials who came to inspect the training exercise. IGP Lists Requirements For SWAT Operatives As Training Begins Monday

Mohammed Adamu, on Sunday, revealed the requirements for officers to be trained in the new police tactical team to replace the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad. He said the training of selected officers for the Special Weapons and Tactics team would commence on Monday, October 19, 2020. The IGP noted that no ex-SARS operatives were shortlisted in the SWAT team. Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has announced the formation of a new unit in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The new unit of the force named, Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) replaces the scrapped Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) dissolved on Sunday. NSCDC Shuts 80 Erring Private Guard Companies

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has closed over 80 erring private guard companies in the past two years, while over N700 million was realised from licensing and renewal fees from other registered companies.
