Covid-19 Pandemic to be ‘Far more Deadly’ this Year, WHO Chief Sends out Strong Warning

The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a strong warning that the second year of Covid-19 is set to be "far more deadly." Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, (WHO) Director-General issued the warning on Friday, May 14. He stated that “we’re on track for the second year of this pandemic to be far more deadly than the first.” The DG added that trickle-down vaccination is not an effective strategy for fighting a deadly respiratory virus as COVID-19 has already cost more than 3.3 million lives. “Vaccine supply remains a key challenge, but this week I’ve been pleased to see leaders & manufacturers working to: share doses with COVAX, make new deals involving tech-transfer and sharing of know-how and call for lifting trade barriers as soon as possible.” Tedros said. WHO Hints on how long COVID-19 will Last

The World Health Organisation, WHO, has hinted that the coronavirus pandemic could last for less than two years. WHO chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said with modern technology and international cooperation, COVID-19 battle could be won in less than two years. Ghebreyesus disclosed this on Friday while addressing a news conference in Geneva, Switzerland, NAN reports. He said while COVID-19 can spread more easily because the world is far more interconnected than it was 100 years ago, modern technology has given humanity the tools to fight the virus more effectively than the Spanish flu. “Hoping we can have additional tools like a vaccine, I think we can finish it in a shorter time than the 1918 flu. “So we hope to finish this pandemic in less than two years,” he said....

The World Health Organisation has warned of a “new and dangerous phase” of the coronavirus pandemic. The warning came on Friday as infections continued to surge in the Americas. Brazil registered more than one million cases. Colombia and Mexico also passed bleak milestones, as their death tolls topped 2,000 and 20,000, respectively. The statistics shows how the virus continues ravaging the Americas and parts of Asia even as Europe starts to ease out of lockdown. The measures imposed to halt the spread of the disease have caused crippling economic damage. WHO however warned against giving in to isolation fatigue. “The world is in a new and dangerous phase”, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a virtual press conference. “Many people are understandably fed u...

Call For The Resignation Of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO DG, Over COVID-19

On January 23rd, 2020. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declines to declare China virus outbreak as a global health emergency. As we all know, the Coronavirus is not treatable at the moment. The number of infected and deaths has risen more than ten times (infected from 800 - close to 10,000) within only 5 days. Part of it is related to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus under estimated the coronavirus. We strongly think Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is not fit for his role as WHO Director General. We call for the Immediate Resignation of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. A lot of us are really disappointed, we believe WHO is supposed to be political neutral. Without any investigation, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus solely believes on the death and infected numbers that the Chinese government provided with ...

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organisation said that lifting lockdown restrictions for COVID-19 is not the end of the pandemic. He said it will signal the beginning of a new phase. Tedros told a virtual meeting of G20 health ministers that it’s vital in this next phase that countries educate, engage and empower their people to respond rapidly to any resurgence. “We are encouraged that several G20 countries are now starting to plan how to ease social restrictions. “It is critical that these measures are a phased process,” he said. Tedros said WHO is deeply concerned that the virus now appears to be gathering pace in countries that lack the capacity of many G20 countries to respond to it. “Urgent support is needed, not only to support ...

Melinda Gates said the WHO is “exactly the organization that can deal with this pandemic”. “De-funding the WHO makes absolutely no sense during a pandemic.
