Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has threatened to name those benefitting from the perennial traffic gridlock and disorderliness experienced along the Apapa corridor in the state. Sanwo-Olu stated this on Wednesday in Lagos while commending the Nigerian Ports Authority for the new E-Call Up system for trucks going to the ports. The Apapa area of the state is notorious for chaos over the haphazard operations of container-laden trucks around the seaports. 51-year-old woman Counters Nursing Mother’s Claim of Police Officer Assaulting her and her Baby

A 51-year-old woman who was at the scene where a nursing mother claimed she was assaulted alongside her 3-months-old baby a SARS officer known as ''Idowu SARS'', has countered the new mum's story. Recall that the claim generated lots of controversy after Anthony Ojukwu, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission NHRC demanded for justice for the nursing mother and her child. Lagos State Government Pulls Down Fela Statue At Allen Avenue

The statue of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who was situated by the former Governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode at Allen Avenue Ikeja has been pulled down by the current Lagos State Government. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s spokesperson, Gboyega Akosile confirmed that the statue has been pulled down, said the roundabout where it was located was identified as one of the four locations in Lagos that cause traffic gridlock. He also identified the other spots where traffic gridlock is experienced to be Ikotun, Lekki-Epe expressway and Maryland. Lagos To Fine Event Centres Whose Guests Block Roads

The Lagos State Government on Sunday cautioned operators of event centres, property owners, religious centres and other places of attraction to desist from compounding traffic gridlock on roads around their locations. The Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, read the riot act to owners of event centres and places of attraction to desist from activities that could obstruct the free flow of traffic.
