Truck crushes two hawkers to death on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Two female hawkers were on Friday crushed to death by a truck around Lotto, inbound Lagos on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the incident to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta. Mr Akinbiyi explained that the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m., saying that the driver of the truck, marked SMK 82 XY, lost control, skidded off the road and rammed into two female road-side hawkers, killing them on the spot. The TRACE spokesman stated that three other people were injured in the accident. Truck crushes 10 women to death in Imo market

No fewer than 10 market women were on Saturday afternoon reportedly crushed to death when a truck rammed into Nkwommiri market in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State.   The incident also left scores of others wounded, The Nation learnt. The truck was said to have lost its brakes while descending from Anara road towards Orlu. It was said to have rammed into women trading on the roadside market parts of the market. Mob Sets Truck Ablaze In Ogun

A mob of residents in the Ota on Saturday set a truck ablaze at the Old Toll Gate axis of the Lagos – Abeokuta Expressway in the state. This followed an accident involving the truck and two other vehicles, which affected 17 people. Officials of the Ogun State Fire Service later arrived at the scene to put out the fire. A 26-year-old woman was seriously injured when a truck landed on top of her car. . The truck which was nicknamed as IVM Fire Fighting Truck was displayed at the company's entrance for display early this morning. Tanker Explosion kills 10 Persons in Gombe

At least 10 people have been reportedly killed, after a petroleum tanker exploded at Bomala Bridge axis of Gombe, capital of Gombe. The incident which occurred early Saturday afternoon left several cars burnt.
