Uncertainty As IGP Adamu Retires On Monday

There is uncertainty over what happens at the Louis Edet House, headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), as Inspector-General of Police Mohammed A. Adamu is due to retire on Monday. Sources told Daily Trust that there is frenzy and heightened intrigues within the police high command and corridors of power in Abuja in the foggy race for the police top job. Adamu, a member of the ASP Cadet Course 14, is due to retire on account of service years. The IGP clocks 35 years in service on Monday, having enlisted in the Police Force on February 1, 1986. Uncertainty As Akeredolu’s Quit Notice Expires Tomorrow

Unimaginable calm has returned to the border towns and hotspots of kidnapping and other criminal activities in Ondo State since Governor Rotimi Akeredolu ordered herdsmen to quit the state’s forest reserves. However, cattle grazers and their herds were still spotted in droves across the state, unperturbed and uncommonly calm, taking their cattle around for greener pastures unhindered. Also worthy of note is that the troubled spots along Akure/Ilesa, Akure/Owo, Ikare/Epinmi/Akoko-Edo and Owo/Benin expressways, which used to be notorious for incessant kidnapping activities, suddenly become safe, as there have been reported incidence of criminal activities in the last six days. Although the seven-day ultimatum given by the governor to unregistered herdsmen and other criminally-mind...

‘What a spectacle!’: Iran Supreme Leader mocks US democracy amid election uncertainty

Iran’s supreme leader has mocked the U.S presidential election and democracy, citing President Trump’s non-evident claim of voter fraud. Recall that President Trump caused a disquiet among even leaders of his own Republican Party by flatly alleging fraud, while his Democratic challenger Joe Biden's campaign team has accused the incumbent of seeking to deny the electoral rights of tens of thousands of postal voters. The Iranian Supreme leader who described the election as a "spectacle" which will be “interesting to watch" in a tweet shared on Wednesday, added that it has exposed the reality of US democracy. He also tweeted;   “What a spectacle! “One says this is the most fraudulent election in US history. Who says that? The president who is currently in office. “...
