Oh No! Female Students Injured In UNIMAID Hostel Fire

As many as three female students have been injured in a fire outbreak at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Murtala female hostel on Saturday. Properties were also destroyed in the incident, the second of such in one month. The inferno reportedly started from a cooking stove and was put out by the university’s fire service. Public Relations Director, Prof. Danjuma Gambo, said preliminary investigations showed it was a Kerosene explosion. NAN quoted the spokesman as confirming that the three undergraduates were in a hospital. Gambo assured that the management was taking steps to enforce more fire safety regulations in hostels.

Boko Haram Beheads Four IDPs In Dalori-1 Camp, Maiduguri

Four internally displaced persons, IDPs, in Dalori-1 Camp of Maiduguri,Borno State, have been beheaded bythe Boko Haram, PREMIUM TIMES learnt. They were reportedly beheaded while hunting outside the camp on Saturday.The four victims were on Sunday buried by their fellow displaced persons.Two other IDPs who were among a 12-man hunting troop were yet to be accounted for on Sunday evening. It took a search team to find the four beheaded bodies some few kilometres from the Dalori camp along the Maiduguri-Bama road.Sources familiar with the incident said the attacked IDPs who were also volunteer members of the local vigilante, Civilian-JTF, often go to the bush to hunt for games which they either cook to beef up their protein needs or sell to earn some cash. Scattered Body Parts Of Suicide Bombers After Attack In Borno

Today ,13/05/2017, at 1:10am, three suicide bombers, two men and a woman attempted to gain access into university of Maiduguri, Borno state but we're sighted by the university security who stopped them for interrogation. While interrogating them, the two suicide bombers detonated their explosives devices which injured one of the securities and killed another . The third suicide bomber hid close to the vicinity of a church in the university later detonated her explosive which affected the structure of the church with no casualty. The injured was taken UMTH after administration of first aid while the corpses were deposited at Borno specialist hospital by the NEMA ERT team.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has submitted to the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court details of alleged telephone conversations and text messages between Nigerian lawyer, Rickey Tarfa and a High Court judge in an ongoing bribery case. At the resumed hearing Thursday, Danladi Daniel, a detective with the anti-graft office, informed the court of details of several calls and text messages traced to Mr. Tarfa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Mohammed Yinusa and H.A. Ngajiwa, both of the Federal High Court in Lagos. Professor Aliyu Mani Killed In University Of Maiduguri Mosque Bomb Blast (Pics)

A university professor, Aliyu Mani was among the 5 people killed when two suicide bombers entered two mosques at the University of Maiduguri in the troubled northeastern state of Borno and blew themselves up, at least 15 others were seriously injured according to Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency. Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that suicide bombers hit the university while some students and staff of the university were observing early dawn Fajr prayer at 6:30 a.m Nigerian time. Before he was killed today, Professor Mani served the university as the Director of Veterinary Services.
