Champions League final: Sterling Reveals What can Stop Man City from Beating Chelsea

Raheem Sterling has insisted that only Manchester City can stop themselves from winning the Champions League final. City go into Saturday’s game as big favourites to beat Chelsea, despite suffering two defeats against their opponents in the past two months. Chelsea ended Pep Guardiola’s men’s hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season. Thomas Tuchel’s team also delayed City from winning the Premier League title, with a 2-1 away win at the Etihad. “It is now about focusing on winning that trophy. The only thing that can stop us is ourselves, if I am honest. “We have played them twice [under Tuchel] and lost twice. But this is a Champions League final. “On the day, things are a lot different. You go into it with a clean mindset. Those games that h...

Man City Survive Dortmund Scare to Secure Semi-final Spot

Manchester City reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time under Pep Guardiola after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Germany, winning the tie 4-2 on aggregate. Holding a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, City did not know whether to stick or twist in the early stages and were caught cold by a fantastic strike from 17-year-old Jude Bellingham, who became the youngest English goalscorer in the Champions League. Guardiola has seen his City team knocked out at the quarter-final stage in the last three seasons and must have been fearing the worst again, but Emre Can handed the visitors a lifeline when handling a cross. Riyad Mahrez stroked home from the penalty spot (55) before Phil Foden hammered in a second (75) from the edge of the area to rubberstamp the v...
