The Lagos State Government, on Sunday, attributed the refuse on Akobi Crescent in Surulere after the recent rainfall to ongoing dredging work in the area. A statement issued today by the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello, in reaction to the video trending on social media, stated that the convergence was due to dredging of system 6c downstream from LUTH and the blockade at Akobi Crescent. The Lagos State Government has directed the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAM), otherwise known as PSP operators, to resume door-to-door evacuation of waste.
