3-month-old baby and 5 women kidnapped in Abuja

Some gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a three-month-old baby and five women at Anguwar Epe, behind Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Tungan-Maje, Abuja.   An eyewitness identified as Ishaku told Daily Trust that the incident occurred by 10:23 on Tuesday June 8. He said some of the kidnappers who took strategic positions in the community, shot sporadically into the air to scare neighbours and security agents from coming after them.   Ishaku also said that the kidnappers had already left with their victims before policemen arrived.   He said;   “They came through the big mountain behind the Epe and positioned themselves before some other gangs and invaded two houses and whisked away a three-month-old child alongside five women."

13 Killed in a Boat Mishap in Sokoto

Thirteen persons, including women and children, have died in a boat mishap that occurred in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State. According to reports, the victims were traveling from Doruwa to Ginga when the boat capsized. Confirming the incident to newsmen, the Chairman of the local government council, Aliyu Dantine Shagari, said eight of the victims were married women and the remaining five were children and elderly men. He said that the boat might be overloaded. ''There are other causes of boat mishap including strong wind. We are still investigating the matter to know what actually led to the accident.”he said He said the bodies of all the victims have been recovered and buried in line with the Islamic rites.

The simulator was hooked up to the body of the subjects and the pain level was raised to the highest  - level 10. While the women barely felt the pain and said it was nothing compared to the cramps they experience monthly, the men appeared to be in excruciating pain and asked that the simulator be turned off. This is nothing. My cramps are like 10 times worse than this," one woman said while she was hooked up to the simulator. Truck crushes 10 women to death in Imo market

No fewer than 10 market women were on Saturday afternoon reportedly crushed to death when a truck rammed into Nkwommiri market in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State.   The incident also left scores of others wounded, The Nation learnt. The truck was said to have lost its brakes while descending from Anara road towards Orlu. It was said to have rammed into women trading on the roadside market parts of the market. Village sources told The Nation some of the victims were crushed into a nearby river. One of them said the community was working with government officials to rescue those trapped. Imo police spokesperson Orlando Ikeokwu told The Nation that two persons had been confirmed dead so far, while rescue mission was ongoing.
