Heal the wound of 1967 civil war on Igbos, Oluwo of Iwo tasks FG

The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has tasked the federal government of Nigeria under President Muhammed Buhari, to heal the wound of the damages inflicted on various ethnic groups most especially the Igbos by the 1967 civil war. Oba Akanbi expressed the need to call a unification conference to assess the destruction of the civil war to Igbos and provide palliative capable of promoting long term affinity among diverse ethnic groups in the nation. "When destiny can't be denied, 22nd September, few years ago, I fell from 2 storey building cos the balcony collapsed, I was confirmed dead for hours. BUT GOD KEPT ME. Kidnapped Jos lawyer regains freedom

A lawyer who was kidnapped by gunmen in Jos on Monday evening, July 5, has regained freedom. Gyang Zi was driving home after closing from work when the gunmen attacked him within the Little Rayfield Government House in Jos and kidnapped him, leaving his car behind. His car was later found on Tuesday morning, July 6, with the windows wound down on an untarred road beside the fence of the Government House. The bread he had bought was visible in the car seat. A resident who saw the car filmed it and expressed concern that the owner of the car might have been kidnapped since the car had been there since the previous night and a beeping sound was coming from the car. The senior lawyer eventually regained freedom on Tuesday evening allegedly after N10 million ransom was paid.

Suspected Herdsmen allegedly Kidnap 19 Passengers in Imo and Ogun

Suspected herdsmen have allegedly abducted 15 passengers in a bus in Imo State, while four other passengers were kidnapped by gunmen also suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Ogun state. The Sun reports that the incident in Imo happened on Arondizuogu-Okigwe Express Road at about 8am on Thursday, June 10. Eyewitnesses claim the suspected Fulani herdsmen believed to be harbouring around Eke-Onuimo, in Onuimo Local Government Area of the State, jumped out from the bush and attacked the bus fully loaded with passengers and whisked them into the bush in the area. A commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been killed by bandits on Kuje-Gwagwalada Road. According to reports, the official simply identified as Commandant Dangana, died following the gunshot wound he sustained during a gun battle with bandits along the road on Sunday, June 6. He was rushed to the hospital afterwards but died on Monday, June 7.
