Yabatech Director Omoighe Dies Of COVID-19; Hostels Shut Down

Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech), on Tuesday, announced the death of the College Director, Academic Planning Unit, Mr. M.A.O Omoighe to complications arising from COVID-19 disease. Following the development, the management at the end of an emergency meeting and based on the report submitted by the Ag. Director, Medical Services, ordered all students to vacate the hotels latest Thursday, January 28, 2021. I Was Paid N4,000 As Monthly Salary – Says Remi Ajiboye, ASUP Chairman

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics have decried the lapses in the controversial payment system introduced by the Nigerian government, the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, saying it has led to the disruption of activities in the nation’s polytechnics. ASUP stated this on Thursday, even as it warned that it could embark on an industrial action. Salawa Abeni Nude Scandal: 19-year-old YABATECH Student Plotting To Blackmail The Singer Arrested

Lagos State Police Command, have arrested a 19-year-old National Diploma holder of the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, for plotting to blackmail popular artiste, Salawa Abeni. The suspect, Olufowoke Emmanuel, said to be a resident of Ogun State, was picked up by the decoy team of the RRS last Thursday. The police were said to have been trailing Emmanuel for three days. The artiste recently went on social media to raise the alarm over plans to blackmail her with her nude photos. She posted her WhatsApp conversation with the suspect and the purported old photos he planned to use for the blackmail. Yabatech Graduate Commits Suicide In Lagos

Barely two weeks to the commencement of his one year National Youth Service Scheme, a graduate of the Yaba College of Technology, Oluwamuyiwa Oluwagbemileke, aka Spartacus, has ended his life. The 27-year-old graduate of electrical engineering reportedly took a poison on Wednesday after he was blamed for damaging a car in a sachet water factory in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, where he worked. It was learnt that he had hit the vehicle on another one on the factory premises while trying to help the owner re-park it. The Osogbo, Osun State indigene, was said to have become desperate to raise N50,000 to repair the damaged car.
