Thomas Tuchel has said that Kai Havertz was the only Chelsea player to have impressed him in Wednesday’s Premier League victory over Watford.
Mason Mount’s opener was cancelled out by Emmanuel Dennis but second half substitute, Hakim Ziyech made sure the Blues ran away with a 2-1 win win over Claudio Ranieri’s side.
The win keeps them top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Despite his frustration over his team’s poor performance, Tuchel singled out Kai Havertz for praise.
Havertz provided the assist for Mount’s opener with his manager claiming he was the only one that ‘reached his level’.
“Havertz was very strong today,” Tuchel told Amazon Prime.
“I felt he was the one player reaching his level today. We missed some players.”
He added, “We had some players overloaded. We stole three points. We don’t have to talk around it. For the first time, it feels like a lucky win.”
