Bayern Munich director, Hasan Salihamidzic, has confirmed the club has signed Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
Upamecano, 22, has previously been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
However, the French defender is now set to remain in Germany when he leaves Leipzig in the summer.
Upamecano is believed to have a release clause worth €42.5 million, which Bayern have activated in principle.
“Dayot Upamecano will play for Bayern for the next five years.
“We are very happy about it at FC Bayern.
“We had very good, intensive and professional discussions with Dayot and his advisor Volker Struth for many months. We knew that we had very strong competition,” Salihamidzic told Bild.
